Reaching the Station
Happy Sunday to you. Hard to believe February and the Olympics are about to come to a quick and sudden ending. If you get the chance, have your television on about 2:15 pm for the U.S. Canada gold medal game in Men's Hockey. I am hopeful it will be a memorable matchup between two teams.
I also have it on good authority that the Londoner pub in Addison will be the hotspot to watch the hockey if you are of Canadian persuasion or a fan therof. I won't divulge names but I do have good sources. Happy viewing.

Normally I am not one to go clubbing unless there's an invitation involved. This happened to be the case yesterday as the lovely Miss Sarah Jones was celebrating a birthday in Mockingbird Station. I know very little about the Park Cities area. That is, unless I am attending an SMU football game or hitting the Starbucks there on Hillcrest Ave.
I discovered the Angelika Theatre was located there, and I also discovered an underground playground for eating, shopping, and clubbing. 11pm on a Saturday night in Park Cities was hotter than a jalopeno dying to get out of it's own skin. I was looking for a new nightclub.
Ran into a few people who are familiar with the owners of the Deux Lounge. They all said the same thing. It is the hot spot outside the usual locations on lower Greenville, Uptown, and out toward Plano/Frisco.
Indoors was dimly lit with a nice deco setup and miles of leather couches for seating or just being seen. The DJ was playing a great mix of hip-hop, 80's, salsa, and of course that obligatory '1-2-3-4' sound from that Pitbull guy. Great tune to dance to, I admit.
12-15 people had gathered to enjoyed Sarah Jones turning a young 28. This young mover and shaker is going places. The Status proves me right. She provided an invite and I was glad. Equal kudos to Jonelle and Kevin for their hospitality this night. Then the camera got busy.
The crowd was young. Ed Hardy wearing men mingling with 20 something women who think that Obsession is the only perfume you're allowed to wear. I admit if I was 20 years younger I'd be doing the Rumple Stumble and the Guinness Bidness. Hot Hot Hot!

As the clock neared midnight, the testosterone was too much for this old man so I made a quick exit out of Mockingbird Station. I got some great pictures and made some new friends.
My thanks once again to Sarah Jones, Jonelle and sir Kevin and to the people of the Deux Lounge. That was an experience.
Happy hockey watching. Go USA! This Olympiad has certainly been memorable for many reasons.
Over and out in Big D
