It takes an awful lot to get me away from a sporting event. For one event, the diversion is a fun one if you want to enjoy some crazy fun and free debauchery. This once a year event features it, and I'll be working it this evening. Kaboomtown.

With last years's World Series team from the American League making two visits to Arlington I was okay with taking this night off from the diamond haps. Kaboomtown is something that should be seen...and enjoyed!

People watching, food, fun, drinks, friends, family, fireworks, music, dancing, you name it. You can find all of that in one city this night. Addison, Texas will be the place to be. May I recommend the place to be? Champps Americana in Addison, Texas. That's where I will be doing my first Kaboomtown in six years...

One of the best fireworks shows in the U.S. and of course some of the best music with Emerald City and Suburban Legend before the sparks go skyward. The night before July 4th gets festive and raucous. I hope to see you there.

In September I will have reached the 12 year mark for sobriety. Tomorrow night is one where you may think you are in control and get away with 'buzzed driving'. Do yourself a favor. Stash a c-note for the cab you won't want to call! Trust me on this one. Pay the 100 now, and not deal with 15 grand and life in your future. It isn't worth it. That, or just designate a driver! I want to see you AFTER the holidays, and not read about you. Got it? Enough lectures.
